Hail in 30139 (Fairmount) on June 25, 2025
NOAA radar estimated hail up to 2.99 inches (baseball size) in zip code 30139 (Fairmount) on June 25, 2025, with about 20% of the zip at an inch or more. That ranks 1st of 7 hail days of three quarters of an inch or more in 30139 since October 2020.
What hail this size does to a roof
Golf ball size hail and larger breaks shingle mats, cracks tile and dents metal roofing, gutters and siding. Roofs in the core of a swath like this are often replaced. That was about 1.3 years ago. Policies set deadlines for reporting a loss and for lawsuits, so check yours before assuming an older storm can still be claimed. Damage from it can still matter when a newer storm hits.
