Zip code 30265 (Newnan, Coweta County) took hail on March 26, 2023: the radar estimate peaked at 1.96 inches, golf ball size. That ranks 1st of 8 hail days of three quarters of an inch or more in 30265 since October 2020.
What hail this size does to a roof
Golf ball size hail and larger breaks shingle mats, cracks tile and dents metal roofing, gutters and siding. Roofs in the core of a swath like this are often replaced. That was about 3.6 years ago. Policies set deadlines for reporting a loss and for lawsuits, so check yours before assuming an older storm can still be claimed. Damage from it can still matter when a newer storm hits.
