Hail in 30522 (Cherrylog) on July 2, 2023
NOAA radar estimated hail up to 0.82 inches (penny size) in zip code 30522 (Cherrylog) on July 2, 2023. That ranks 2nd of 2 hail days of three quarters of an inch or more in 30522 since October 2020.
What hail this size does to a roof
Penny size hail can bruise aging shingles and mark soft metals. Newer roofs often come through it, so an inspection is how you find out. That was about 3.3 years ago. Policies set deadlines for reporting a loss and for lawsuits, so check yours before assuming an older storm can still be claimed. Damage from it can still matter when a newer storm hits.
