Hail in 30662 (Royston) on June 25, 2025
On June 25, 2025, hail reached an estimated 0.72 inches (pea to dime size) over zip code 30662 in Royston. That ranks 3rd of 6 hail days of three quarters of an inch or more in 30662 since October 2020.
What hail this size does to a roof
Quarter size hail is the size most often behind roof damage claims. It can bruise shingles and dent soft metals, especially on roofs more than a few years old. That was about 1.3 years ago. Policies set deadlines for reporting a loss and for lawsuits, so check yours before assuming an older storm can still be claimed. Damage from it can still matter when a newer storm hits.
