Hail in 30035 (Decatur) on June 25, 2025
NOAA radar estimated hail up to 1.58 inches (ping pong ball size) in zip code 30035 (Decatur) on June 25, 2025, with about 14% of the zip at an inch or more. That ranks 1st of 3 hail days of three quarters of an inch or more in 30035 since October 2020.
What hail this size does to a roof
Half dollar to ping pong ball size hail commonly bruises asphalt shingles, knocks granules loose and dents gutters, vents and downspouts. That was about 1.3 years ago. Policies set deadlines for reporting a loss and for lawsuits, so check yours before assuming an older storm can still be claimed. Damage from it can still matter when a newer storm hits.
